Still invoicing as PDFs

With e invoicing in UAE, businesses need to move beyond traditional invoice formats and prepare for structured electronic invoicing that meets the required PINT-AE standard.

No ASP appointed yet

Businesses preparing for e invoicing in UAE need to select and onboard an Accredited Service Provider that connects their systems to the Peppol network.

Accounting system not integrated

Your accounting or ERP platform must support UAE e-invoicing requirements and exchange the required PINT-AE data correctly. Proper integration makes e invoicing in UAE easier to manage.

Q. Is e-invoicing mandatory in the UAE?

Yes. The Ministry of Finance is rolling out mandatory e-invoicing in phases. Confirm which phase applies to you and prepare your systems, processes and ASP integration before your deadline.

Q. What is an Accredited Service Provider (ASP), and do I need one?

An ASP is an organisation approved by the UAE Ministry of Finance to connect you to the Peppol network. Every in-scope business must appoint one — it validates your XML invoices, transmits them, and reports tax data to the FTA. Without one you cannot issue a valid e-invoice.

Q. What invoice format does the UAE require?

The PINT-AE structured XML format, derived from the international Peppol Invoice standard. A traditional PDF does not qualify, however it is delivered.

Q. Can I keep my existing accounting software, like Zoho Books?

Usually yes — but it must be integrated with an accredited ASP and configured to produce PINT-AE-compliant output. We handle that across Zoho Books and major ERP and accounting platforms.

Q. How long does implementation take?

For an ERP-integrated business, a realistic minimum is three to four months across assessment, integration, testing and go-live — which is why early planning matters.
